Obsessed Garage Power Reel Mount

I built this for the same reason I built the Air Reel Mount. I don’t want a heavy reel hanging off drywall or some flimsy universal bracket that twists every time you pull on it.

If you’re running the Coxreels power cord reel, this bracket is the right way to mount it.

It’s designed to land perfectly on 16 inch on center studs so you can mount it once and forget about it. No lagging into one stud and hoping for the best. No flex. No drama.

Key details
  • Designed specifically for Coxreels power cord reels
  • Mounts directly to 16 inch on center wall studs
  • Made entirely from steel
  • Available in raw stainless or wrinkle black powdercoat
  • Wrinkle black version is steel underneath
  • Includes mounting hardware
  • Built to handle the weight and constant tension of a loaded cord reel
Why this matters
  • Power reels are heavy
  • The torque when the cord retracts puts stress on the wall
  • Cheap brackets will flex over time
  • Flex turns into wall damage

This spreads the load across both studs and keeps the reel tight to the wall. It installs cleanly, sits flat, and doesn’t move when you’re pulling 50 feet of cord across the garage.

Finish options
  • Raw stainless for that industrial look
  • Wrinkle black if you want it to blend into your wall system

If I’m mounting a Coxreels power reel in my own garage, this is the bracket I’m using.
